ADELAIDE (30 November, 2017) – The Adelaide Riverbank Precinct has received another boost with Adelaide Venue Management, operators of the award-winning Adelaide Convention Centre, opening ‘Home Ground’ on the Riverbank Promenade. The stylish new café court—a first for the Adelaide Riverbank—officially opens its doors this Saturday (2 December), just in time to cater for the large crowds expected to descend on the Riverbank this week.
Located immediately below the Convention Centre’s new East building, Home Ground will serve up a range of relaxed, affordable and family-friendly indoor and outdoor dining, complemented by unrivalled views of the Riverbank Precinct. The new venue has been outfitted by leading Adelaide architecture and design company, Studio-Gram, the masterful creators behind some of the hottest venues in not only Adelaide, but around the world.
Adelaide Venue Management Chief Executive Officer, Anthony Kirchner, says the development of Home Ground supports the City’s broader vision to transform the Adelaide Riverbank into a ‘must visit’ destination.
‘Home Ground adds to the vibrancy of the Riverbank Precinct and will be very popular with casual diners, and those looking for something tasty to eat and drink prior to the many sporting and theatre events held within the Precinct,” comments Mr. Kirchner.
Home Ground café court comprises three new permanent outlets: Goodbuns Diner, Sage Delicatessen and the Home Ground Bar. The new dining precinct also incorporates the well-established R Bar, known for its casual, seasonal menus and panoramic river views.
- Goodbuns Diner:
Open for lunch and dinner daily, Goodbuns Diner offers a modern twist on classic favourites including burgers, hot dogs, southern fried chicken, slow-cooked beef brisket and more.
- Sage Delicatessen:
At Sage, diners will be treated to fresh, local produce whipped into a variety of light, “on trend” dishes. The breakfast offering includes such dishes as poached eggs with salmon and smashed avocado; acai bowls; chia pods and more. The lunchtime menu features a variety of salads; poké bowls; sandwiches and wraps, with artisan desserts available throughout the day.
- Home Ground Bar
The Home Ground Bar features an extensive beverage list complemented by select bar snacks. The perfect location for those seeking ‘drinks with a view’, it is set to cater for not only the lunch crowd, but also the after-work crowd, the sporting crowd, the pre-theatre crowd, as well as provide an ideal meeting spot for business visitors for pre- and post- conference hours networking.
Home Ground continues Adelaide Convention Centre’s commitment to showcasing local produce. In addition to its permanent outlets, the café court will also feature two pop-up outlets which will be offered to South Australian food and wine producers to showcase their wares to locals and the City’s many interstate and international visitors. Across the opening period, these pop-ups will include a specialty Gin & Spritz Bar, presented by Adelaide Hills Distillery, and a pop-up Oyster Bar, serving freshly shucked Smoky Bay oysters complemented by Adelaide Hills Sparkling. The pop-ups will regularly change to offer diners something new to explore, as well as provide plenty of opportunities for local producers.
Home Ground will adopt special operating hours across its launch period and be open from 8am till late, 2 – 6 December. After this period, regular operating hours will be 8am – 8pm. For further information, visit www.homegrounddining.com.au.
