The Big Slapple, a unique festival hub on the Adelaide Riverbank, returns to the Adelaide Convention Centre for the 2020 Adelaide Fringe Festival, with two performance venues showcasing a range of comedy, cabaret and performance events: Apollo Theatre and Blue Note Club.

‘Wilbur the Optical Whale’ is a ‘tale’ about friendship, acceptance and celebrating difference. Wilbur & Cecil are BFF’s & are inseparable…or are they? One day while playing hide & seaweed, Wilbur & Cecil are set upon by the Starfish Meanie Gang! How do they get out of this one? Join Wilbur & Cecil and help them in their quest. ‘Wilbur’ is an immersive, interactive accessible performance for children aged 3 — 8 years. Set in an exquisitely crafted underwater world, full of fun, stunning circus tricks, digital & visual imagery, music & interactive play, Wilbur is a show for anyone aged 3 – 93.

All of our shows will have integrated Auslan interpreting, we have noise cancelling headphones available so audience members can engage on their own terms. Our set includes a quiet space as part of relaxed performance mode catering to those who may require it.
