Our food wins hearts and honours. We source with care, cook with flair, and serve with professionalism and a feel for your event and the mood of your guests. We call it modern Australian cuisine, but the specifics are up to you.

Menus vary, but standards don’t.

Nighty-eight percent of produce is sourced here in South Australia (we’d be crazy not to) and our preference is for fabulous South Australian wines, some made little more than half an hour from our front door.

Soils and seasons

You’ll find stories of South Australia in every dish listed on the Adelaide Convention Centre’ Soils & Seasons menu.

Stories of farmers and fishers and growers, who’ve battled and bettered Nature for generations. Of migrants who’ve come in waves, bringing new knowledge, new foods, new ways, new seeds.

Of native plants and animals, once thought curious, now eclectic ingredients in an exciting food culture.

Be it breakfast for 35, canapés for 350, or a banquet for 3500 – take your pick from our menu, and we’ll take you to the source on each plate. You’ll taste the soil, the season, the sea and the region.

Meet the Chef

Gavin Robertson joined the Adelaide Convention Centre in May 2015.

He has joined the Centre at a pivotal time as its multi-million dollar expansion and the revitalisation of Adelaide’s Riverbank precinct captures the attention of international and interstate conference and event organisers.

The kitchen of all commercial kitchens!

With more than 45,000 disposable chef hats used every year, you get a rough idea of how busy our kitchen is.

Running like a well-oiled machine, internationally trained chefs devise mouth-watering recipes to deliver stories of South Australia’s rich offering of fresh, local produce to every plate.

Take a look at the quantities of food that are savoured by our guests – it’s no small feat. But food is what we love, and where better than our backyard to source it?

Bon appétit.

Fun Video

The Adelaide Convention Centre brought a Guinness World Record back to Australian shores from the UK, when we attempted ‘The Longest Cake’ (lamington). Running down the middle of a kilometre-long table, the 21,000 lamingtons winded their way through the new West Building, launched in March 2015.

We also raised AUD$19,000 for local charities through the sale of the yummy sponge cakes.
