The Adelaide Convention Centre’s international and interstate conference delegates will be heading to one of the top 5 regions in the world, according to internationally-renowned travel company Lonely Planet.

Lonely Planet’s Best of Travel 2017 has declared South Australia as the best travel experience in the nation for its unspoilt beaches, wild outback, Kangaroo Island, wineries and Mad March’s Festival season.

The publication describes South Australia as a “delicious feast suitable to anyone’s taste”, and the state is the only Australian destination to be named.

The listing is likely to create additional interest among visiting conference delegates, and encourage them to spend additional time touring the State.

Adelaide Convention Centre Chief Executive Officer Alec Gilbert said the State’s diverse, unparalleled attractions is coupled with more international airlines now servicing Adelaide to provide greater accessibility for visitors.

“South Australia’s unique landscape, arts, food and wine culture, along with an increasingly vibrant capital city are all major drawcards for conferences,” said Mr Gilbert.

Lonely Planet also noted that for overseas visitors, South Australia is really is Australia in a nutshell with so much to see, and many unique experiences that are accessible without too many hours of driving or flying.
