The Adelaide Convention Centre hosted the signing of the landmark South Australia-Shandong Friendly Co-operation Action Plan 2015-2018 in September.

The signing of the agreement by Premier Jay Weatherill and Shandong’s Communist Party Secretary Jiang Yikang took place during a visit by more than 150 investment, trade and cultural delegates from South Australia’s Chinese sister province Shandong.

Economically Shandong is China’s third largest province with a population of 100 million and annual GDP of USD $1 trillion. The agreement will open up opportunities for significantly enhanced programs in trade, education, tourism and cultural exchange.

At the event, the Adelaide Convention Centre’s chefs made sure the delegates were well looked after with a custom Chinese menu, and themed the space to match the occasion.
