They say variety is the spice of life.

And this couldn’t be truer when describing Variety – the Children’s Charity of South Australia, and the many different ways they assist children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs.

This year, Adelaide Convention Centre is celebrating a 15 year partnership with Variety SA which started with the Centre’s sponsorship of the annual Variety Ball from its inception in 2002.

The partnership has flourished. The Centre has worked with Variety to help grow the Ball by providing guests with a unique experience for every event, and in turn encouraging them to return every year. To date, the Ball has raised more than $2.4 million to assist children in need.

This year, the Centre hosted the largest Variety Ball ever held in Australia with a record 2,450 guests attending. The Ball took over the entire Central Building.

The Centre’s partnership with Variety has grown beyond the Ball, and includes support for the Ladies of Variety (LOV), who run a series of events for kids throughout the year. The Centre hosts the LOV Surprise Party, which this year catered for 1,300 children.

In recognition of the Centre’s support, in 2014 the Centre was invited to officially present a brand new 22 seat Sunshine Coach to St Patrick’s Special School. The bus, valued at $121,000 was funded by Variety SA.
