South Australia puts you in a heightened state of mind
Adelaide’s size, spirit and sights are its strengths. With all the cosmopolitan conveniences and one of mother nature’s finest backdrops, big ideas flourish here.
The city’s cutting-edge research facilities, innovation hubs, lauded universities, dynamic collaboration spaces and ambitious entrepreneurs perfectly counterbalance it’s globally renowned festivals, food scene and famous friendliness, providing countless opportunities to elevate your experience and spark connections with local thought leaders and industry experts.
THE POWER OF PLACE
Adelaide Convention Centre proudly sits at the epicentre of Adelaide’s innovation corridor along North Terrace. Conveniently connected to world-class innovation neighbourhoods, in a city made for major events, this is a place of your greatest revelations and revolutions.
Our team has formed strong alliances with key innovation precincts to add value to conference programs. We’re able to facilitate connections with local thought leaders, innovative industry and research bodies and academics; to conduct site tours, share ideas and gain access to key speakers. This approach is all about enriching your conference experience both within the Centre and the city itself, to create lasting legacies.
Adelaide BioMed City
With one of the largest health and life sciences precincts of its kind in the southern hemisphere, Adelaide has become a global medical conference capital.
The $3.6 billion Adelaide BioMed City is steps from the Centre, placing you in the neighbourhood of more than 2,000 life-saving researchers, academics and clinicians – a ready-made pool of speakers and delegates.
A triage of healthcare, research and teaching, Adelaide BioMed City comprises of the Royal Adelaide Hospital, the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) and the Australian Bragg Centre (opening late 2023), along with medical facilities of two South Australian universities.
Spearheaded by the Australian Space Agency, Lot Fourteen is the centre of gravity for Adelaide’s space sector, opening up a world of collaboration opportunities. A short stroll east from the Centre, it’s Adelaide’s version of Silicon Valley, with a healthy dash of NASA.
Already the city’s high-tech district, Lot Fourteen has become the command centre of over 80 space-related start-ups and organisations. Immerse yourself in the fascinating worlds of artificial intelligence, virtual reality, robotics, space and cybersecurity.
The precinct is also home to the nation’s largest AI facility, the first Australian Cyber Collaboration Centre and the only MIT BigData Living Labs in the southern hemisphere. Lot Fourteen is a destination in itself.
Tonsley Innovation District
Some innovations need space to test, play and iterate. An old automotive manufacturing hub turned innovation district, Tonsley is now a launch pad for future industries.
A quick 20-minute drive from the Centre, Tonsley is the home of big industries – renewable energy, mining, medical device manufacturing and automation simulations. Tesla, Flinders University, the Australian Hydrogen Centre and SIMEC Energy Australia have chosen Tonsley’s 61-hectare floorspace as their own testing grounds.
No other conference location can compete on connectivity and convenience. With the Adelaide Convention Centre’s surprisingly close proximity to a network of innovation districts, your entire trip is the experience.
