Introducing Adelaide’s Innovation Corridor

Adelaide, South Australia is a city in transformation, having undergone a period of significant growth and development in recent years. This not only includes significant investment in the city’s Riverbank Precinct, but the development of an innovation corridor which spans the North Terrace boulevard, bookended by Adelaide BioMed City in the west and Lot Fourteen in the east.  The Centre proudly sits at the heart of this corridor, providing direct connectivity to these leading innovation hubs.

Our team has formed a strong alliance with both precincts to add value to conference programs, and are able to facilitate connections with local thought leaders, innovative industry and research bodies and academics; to conduct site tours, share ideas, and gain access to key speakers. This approach is all about enriching the conference experience both within the Centre and the city itself, creating lasting legacies.

Adelaide BioMed City

Immediately adjacent to the Centre, the $3.6B Adelaide BioMed City is one of the largest health and life sciences precincts in the Southern Hemisphere. Comprising the Royal Adelaide Hospital and South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI), along with the University of Adelaide’s Health and Medical Sciences facility and the University of South Australia’s Health and Innovation building, BioMed City brings together research, education, clinical care and business development. A driving force behind Adelaide’s reputation as a global medical conference capital, the precinct places more than 2,000 researchers and thousands of academics, staff and clinicians on our doorstep, providing a ready‐made pool of speakers and delegates.

Lot Fourteen

A short stroll East of the Centre, Lot Fourteen is dedicated to showcasing some of the world’s fastest growing industries, from artificial intelligence to cyber security, robotics, defence and space technologies among others. Lot Fourteen is spearheaded by the Australian Space Agency—a lasting legacy of the 2017 International Astronautical Congress held here at the Centre. The Space Agency, along with a new Mission Control and Space Discovery Centre (opening 2021), have bolstered our city’s strengths in space and defence, providing exciting opportunities for knowledge transfer. Lot Fourteen is also home to the MIT bigdata Living Lab.
