Regattas Bistro, part of the Adelaide Convention Centre, has taken out the Best Modern Australian award at the Restaurant and Catering South Australian Natural Gas Awards for Excellence 2007.
The restaurant beat a first-class field to take the honours in one of the most prestigious categories in a State renowned for its food and wine.
"This is just another reason why Adelaide is Australia's Convention City," Centre Chief Executive Alec Gilbert says.
"Not only are our conference and exhibition facilities world class, but we also offer outstanding food and service experiences throughout the Centre as well as at Regattas, considered one of Adelaide's finest restaurants."
Regattas Bistro is a stylish, contemporary restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating offering fabulous river and parkland views across to historic Adelaide Oval.
It is popular with local residents, in-house delegates and exhibitors alike, with a boutique wine list complemented by an innovative menu with Mediterranean and modern influences using market-fresh South Australian produce.
Centre Food and Beverage Manager Sujoy Dey says the food, service and location set Regattas apart from other restaurants.
"Our Chef, Matthew Fryar, is extremely innovative offering traditional Australian flavours with a modern twist that both surprises and delights," he says.
"Add a menu that reflects the changing seasons to our highly trained and professional staff and you have a dining experience that is superb and immensely pleasurable while being relaxed at the same time."
Open from 8am to late, Regattas caters for all tastes and timetables.
