Adelaide Boat Show coasts to the Adelaide Convention Centre:
Tuesday, 13 July 2010

Thousands of boating enthusiasts will converge at the Adelaide Convention Centre to experience the newest and greatest in marine equipment from this Thursday 15th July until Sunday 18th July in the 2010 Adelaide Boat Show which has been held annually for over 50 years.

The award-winning venue will dedicate 10,000 square metres of exhibition space to more than 70 stallholders, 300 watercraft and - for the first time - the giant Yamaha Supertank aquarium filled with 14,500 litres of water and live Barramundi.

A number of first release products, including a fully inflatable catamaran/campervan named the "Campercat", Yamaha's new trio of V6 outboards, as well as a range of powerboats, cruisers, personal watercraft and marine electronics and fishing tackle and accessories will be on display.

"We are thrilled to host the 2010 Adelaide Boat Show and will welcome the suppliers and other VIP guests with a sponsored Industry Breakfast on Friday morning to provide them with the perfect opportunity to catch up with colleagues and share their latest news and developments," Adelaide Convention Centre, CEO, Alec Gilbert, said.

General Manager of the Boating Industry Association of SA, Glen Jones, is looking forward to the repeat success of the only official, industry owned boat show held in Adelaide.

"Although the economy is still relatively flat, its business as usual for the recreational boating and tourism industries here in South Australia."

"Safe and environmentally-friendly boating continues as a great Australian pastime for families and friends and this will be underlined at the fully-packed 2010 Adelaide Boat Show," Mr Jones said.

The show will boast significantly more content than previous years, including a massive fishing, tackle and accessories display from Anaconda, fully-licensed catering and heaps of free family entertainment, including fashion parades, fish filleting, and cooking presentations.

The Adelaide Convention Centre is also providing reduced cost parking to visitors, charging only $8 on presentation of a Boat Show voucher. Those travelling by public transport, whether by bus, tram or train will appreciate the convenience of the location of the Centre and the Boat Show.

The show is open earlier this year, from 9am-7pm daily, with a 5pm close on Sunday. Entry is still only $15 for adults, $11 for concessions, and accompanied children under 15 free. A two-for-one entry deal is available before noon on Thursday and Friday. Visit http://www.adelaideboatshow.com.au/ for more details.
