Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) www.eeaa.com.au
The Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) is the peak body for the exhibition and event industry professional in Australia and New Zealand. It is the only association representing all aspects of the exhibition and event industry.
The EEAA supports its members by raising the profile of exhibitions. Since it was founded in 1991 the EEAA has been a vibrant organisation, which has continued to evolve its member services as well as promote the value of exhibitions and events as part of the marketing mix. Exhibition organisers, suppliers and venues all know one thing: exhibitions represent one of the most cost-effective ways to bring together buyers and sellers in a face-to-face environment that generates results. It also has a positive impact on the Australian economy from overseas and interstate visitors and exhibitors.
Membership currently comprises 200 corporate members. It includes the majority of exhibition organisers, venues and service organisations across the exhibition and event industry throughout Australia and New Zealand.
The EEAA is a not-for-profit organisation that has as its primary objective the growth of the exhibition and event industry. This is achieved through promoting the unique benefits offered by exhibitions as a marketing tool and the professionalism of EEAA members. In Australia the total economic impact of the exhibition industry is more than $3 billion. More than 80,000 companies exhibit in exhibitions each year and 5 million people attend exhibitions each year.
It is the intention of the EEAA to establish and maintain high industry standards. The use of the EEAA logo is intended to represent a guaranteed level of performance and professionalism for both exhibitors and visitors.
The EEAA has a number of working committees concentrating on special areas of interest to members. These committees have specific functions including market research/statistics, marketing, venue liaison, fundraising and membership recruitment. Each committee is chaired by a member of the Executive. In November 2005 the Executive Committee of EEAA published a BluePrint for the Association. This detailed three key objectives for the Association, Research, Marketing and Risk and Safety Management.
